After graduation Jan Willem worked subsequently at Hewlett-Packard, Nike and Heineken. Being a musician, he changed carreers and took the role of MD of the radio station Arrow Jazz FM combining passion and skills. In 2015 he founded BLCKBRD Sound Branding together with Mathijs Duringhof delivering sound branding solutions for brands like LeasePlan, Gazelle, DeltaLloyd and Baileys.

What does your brand sound like? We are moving towards a more voice-controlled and audio centric world. This enlarges the opportunity for brands to build brand-identiteis through sound. However a recent study by Blauw Research and BLCKBRD has shown that only 3 out of 35 brands are recognized through sound. This lecture dives into the world of sound and touches the hugh opportunities for brands to use sound as a Distinctive Brand Asset.
